Robin van Persie has taken the Football Writers' Association (FWA) accolade just two days after he was announced as the Professional Footballers' Association's Player of the Year.
As predictable as it was merited, the Dutchman has scored 34 goals this season for Arsenal - his best tally in a campaign - as he has helped to propel them up into third place after a rocky start.
FWA chairman Steve Bates, chief football writer at the People, said: "Robin was the overwhelming choice of our members this season and deservedly so after a magnificent campaign for Arsenal.
"The quality of his goals, attacking movement and consistency in a turbulent season for the Gunners has been eye-catching.
"The considerable size of his majority in the votes cast by our members reflected the general view that he has been the season's most outstanding individual performer."
Van Persie becomes the second player in three years to won the personal double after Wayne Rooney won both awards in 2010.

Rooney trailed the Premier League top scorer in second place. He has struck on 31 occasions for Manchester United this term and on Sunday overtook George Best in the club's all-time goalscoring list to occupy fourth place.
Making up the top three was Paul Scholes. Scholes has only played for four months this season after he returned from retirement, having appeared to have hung up his boots for the last time in May last year when United lost the Champions League final to Barcelona at Wembley.
But the 37-year-old has been in terrific form for the Red Devils, who have not lost a Premier League match he has featured in since his comeback. The midfield maestro has also scored three goals in that duration - thrice the total of his solitary effort against Fulham in 2010/11.
One of the most respected figures on the pitch, in the stands and in the press box, Scholes' high finish in the list does appear to highlight how the Premier League has regressed however.
Clint Dempsey, who has scored 22 goals for Fulham, finished fourth in the list but did not even make the PFA's six-man shortlist.
