New Mum Beyoncé Hits Out At Fake Pregnancy Rumours

PA

When rumours started circulating that she was faking her baby bump, and actually using a surrogate to become a mum, Beyoncé kept a dignified silence.

But almost four months after giving birth to her daughter Blue Ivy, her first baby with hubby, Jay Z, she's spoken out about the 'crazy' rumours which surrounded her nine months.

"That was crazy. It wasn't hurtful, it was just crazy," she told People magazine. "I thought, 'where did they come up with this?'"

While there were whispers in the press near the beginning of her pregnancy, it was when the then mum-to-be appeared on a talk show that the rumour mill really went into overdrive.

Her tummy appeared to fold in on itself when she sat down for her interview, almost like memory foam.

Speaking about that interview, the star said: "It was a fabric that folded - does fabric not fold? Oh my gosh, so stupid."

Beyoncé's mum, Tina also defended her daughter's bump, saying: "I thought it was very unfair and very cruel that someone would think that someone would be that diabolical to keep up a charade like that for nine months

"As a mother it was painful for me to hear the crazy rumors. And I even had people ask me, which was so ridiculous."
