Mother and daughter slimmers Debbie Marchese and Chloe Paul shed an incredible 24 stone between them, following matching gastric bypass surgery.
The pair, from Margate, decided to go under the knife after they both hit 28 stone - and Chloe, then a size 28, snapped two chairs under her weight.
The mum and daughter feared they were killing each other with their joint binges, but now Debbie, a former fundraiser for Guide Dogs For The Blind, is a slim size 14, having shed a massive 14 stone - half her weight.
Chloe, who has lost 10 stone, conceived twins Rosa and Ava, now 10 months, just a month after her bypass surgery. She was already mum to Joe, seven, and Ria, three, with husband, Amit, 33, a furniture store worker.
"We're the dream team!" says Chloe. "We both feel like our lives have improved so much. Now when we walk into a clothes shop we can try on whatever we want - it's an incredible feeling.
Before, we'd sit in the car park after going to the supermarket and eat an entire salami each, plus polish off a whole block of cheese. Now, we eat much less and much better. I'm so proud of my mum, I think she looks amazing. We both look a lot better.
Debbie, 53, and Chloe, 25, both had gastric bypasses in 2010. Depressed and unable to do simple tasks without getting out of breath, they both feared they would die young - leaving Chloe's kids without a mum and a grandmother.
Chloe was initially turned down by the NHS because she wasn't deemed 'at risk' enough - while Debbie, who is older and diabetic, got the green light.
But Chloe, who has battled her weight since she was nine years old, was still determined.
In April, Chloe had the op at The Princess Royal University Hospital in Farnborough, Kent, paying £10,000, which she secured through a loan.
Nine months later Debbie has her operation at the Chelsfield Park Hospital in Orpington, Kent.
Amazingly, even though they had the surgery seven months and 75 miles apart, they had the same surgeon - Dr Shamsi El-Hasani.
Debbie, who is married to Mark, 47, and also has a son, Adam, 21, says: "We joke that we got two-for-one, mother-daughter gastric bypasses."
Although Debbie insists she always fed her family healthy home-cooked meals, both women admit to gorging on crisps, biscuits and fizzy drinks.
Before they changed their lifestyles, Debbie and Chloe used to eat more than 4,000 calories a day in sugar and carb-heavy food. For breakfast Debbie would munch on buttery toast, while Chloe would go without eating.
Lunch would be four cheese sandwiches with crisps for Debbie, while Chloe would eat cheese sandwiches with a Pot Noodle.
For dinner Debbie used to eat a large portion of spaghetti Bolognese and Chloe would eat an extra-large portion of curry with rice, bread and butter and six chapatis. Both women snacked throughout the day on biscuits, cheese Mars ice-cream bars, bags of crisps and Coca-Cola.
Now Debbie and Chloe have swapped cheese and biscuits for fresh fruit and yoghurt, and enjoy smaller portions of healthy meals.
A month after her bypass surgery, Chloe found she was expecting twins: "I think having the twins stopped me losing as much as I wanted to but I have completely changed my lifestyle for the better.
I can play and walk with the kids more than ever and I don't get as I used to. Before I felt frustrated with myself and I had a very short temper but now I look at life differently.
"Since cutting out the junk food our relationship is stronger than ever. We laugh all the time and now days are spent in the park with the kids, rather than at the kitchen eating."
