London Olympics: Sir Tom Jones To Headline Free Concert

Singing For The Games

Veteran singer Sir Tom Jones is set to headline a special concert in London in celebration of the Olympic Games.

The Sex Bomb star will take the stage for a free gig in the capital's Hyde Park on 28 July.

The performance is being organised as part of a series of outdoor concerts and parties held to coincide with the sporting spectacular.

London Mayor Boris Johnson says: "We're presenting an unprecedented number of events to suit every taste and make this a summer like no other. It's a fantastic way for hundreds of thousands of people to experience live Games action for free."

Duran Duran will toast the opening of the Olympics with a live show on 27 July, while a second concert, featuring Blur, New Order and The Specials, will mark the closing of the Games on 12 August.
