The Bourne Ultimatum director Paul Greengrass is to helm Barca, a documentary about FC Barcelona's rise under the soon-to-be-departing coach Pep Guardiola.
Chris King, who edited the exceptional Asif Kapadia documentary Senna, about the life of three-times Formula 1 champion Ayrton, will join Greengrass in the editing room.
The picture will focus on Guardiola's four-year tenure at Camp Nou, in which Barcelona won 13 titles, including two Champions Leagues.
Guardiola announced he would step down at the end of the season last month, but that has only peaked British director Greengrass' enthusiasm.
"I'm excited to tell the extraordinary story of Barca and their magnificent achievements under Pep Guardiola on film," the Crystal Palace fan said.
"They have given the world a rare glimpse of sporting perfection, and memories that will last for as long as the game is played."
Possible trilogy:
The Barca Identity
Guardiola forges Tiki-taka passing as his team refuse to cross (against) their enemies.
The Barca Supremacy
The Catalans reap the benefits of passing teams to death.
The Barca Ultimatum
Tasked with crossing against Chelsea, or going out at the semi-finals stage, they fail dramatically.
