Emile Heskey has been released by Premier League club Aston Villa after three years with the club. He made his last appearance for the club in the 2-0 defeat at Norwich City on the final day of the 2011/12 campaign.
Signed by Martin O'Neill from Wigan Athletic in January 2009 at a cost of £3.5m, the former Leicester City and Liverpool striker scored a measly 15 goals in 115 appearances for the Villans.
Nelson has however proven to be his undoing, and now the 34-year-old - who has cost £26.5m in transfer fees throughout his career - faces playing for his sixth club potentially.

Relive some classic Heskey footage (no, really, it's full of goals), and on a more comedic scale, how about that step-over and cross against Algeria?
