Katherine Jenkins may have impressed the judges all series on Dancing with the Stars, but when it came to the final reckoning, she had to settle for second place.
She and her partner Mark Ballas romped in behind American footballer Donald Driver and his partner Peta Murgatroyd, in the finale of the US show.
Jenkins was gracious in defeat, saying “It’s been an absolute dream,” and Ballas told her she was “an angel”.
Proving she’s made plenty of friends during her time on the hit US show, the Welsh opera star was quick to congratulate the winner – “well done, Donald, we love you.”
It was a tense season climax, with all three finalists given just 24 hours to prepare their final dance.
Jenkins and Ballas performed a jive which, once again, impressed the judges. Carrie Ann Inaba told Jenkins, “You are such a brilliant artist. Thank you, because you two set the bar so high this season.”
