Shin-Kicking Championships The Biggest Draw In The 'Cotswold Olimpicks' (VIDEO)

WATCH: Dare You Enter Britain's Shin-Kicking Championships?

Robert Dover's 'Cotswold Olimpicks' have been going, in some form or another, on and off, for 400 years now - and 2012's biggest attraction was the national shin-kicking championships.

The rules are simple: kick your opponent's shins until he falls over. Bouts are judged over three rounds, and no martial arts moves are allowed - in particular, any sweeping kicks - meaning that it's all about your foot-based clobbering power.

Shin guards are allowed, though many prefer just to stuff their socks with straw to soften the blows. These people are heroes.

This year's winner back was stonemason and amateur shin kicker Zac Warren, who said he was "quite surprised" to win considering it was his first attempt at the 'extreme sport'.

That's right, we're calling it as we're seeing it - it's an extreme sport. And for other examples of weird and wonderful extreme sports, cast your eyes over our video gallery dedicated to just that below...
