Rafael Nadal ended Novak Djokovic's dreams of four consecutive Grand Slam wins with a four set victory in the French Open final.
Nadal - who hadn't won since his Roland Garros win last year - beat the Serb 6-4 6-3 2-6 7-5 on Monday after rain led to an extra day's play.
Nadal resumed leading 6-4 6-3 2-6 1-2, with Djokovic a break up in the fourth set.
But the Spaniard broke back in the first game of the day as he honed in on a seventh successive French Open.
Djokovic conceded the match with a double fault as Nadal won his 11th Grand Slam, becoming the all-time record holder of Roland Garros wins, having levelled with Bjorn Borg last year.
The 26-year-old is now only behind Roger Federer (16 Grand Slam wins), Pete Sampras (14) and Roy Emerson (12) in the all-time major tennis rankings.
