Lukas Rosol Sends Rafael Nadal Out Of Wimbledon After Thrilling Five-Set Match (PICTURES)

GALLERY: Rosol Beats Nadal

Lukas Rosol was a nobody on Thursday morning, but after defeating two-times Wimbledon champion and recent French Open victor Rafael Nadal, he is now very much a somebody.

The Czech, ranked 100 in the world and unseeded at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, defeated the Spaniard 6-7 (9-11) 6-4 6-4 2-6 6-4. The last eight points on his service game were won with five aces, as he served for the match.

Hitting forehand winners at 99mph, 26-year-old Rosol's ballsiness and bottle overwhelmed the 11-times Grand Slam winner, who still classily stopped to scribble his autograph onto programmes for waiting fans on Centre Court.

Nadal had not lost at this stage of a Grand Slam since 2005 - his breakthrough year as he won his first major at Roland Garros.
