The Man City striker with a bad boy image was seen bawling like a newborn by millions of TV football fans when his team Italy got spanked 4-0 by Spain in the Euro Cup final.
But – we presume – he will now be crying tears of joy after his ex-lover, model Raffaella Fico, 24, told him she was pregnant – and that he's the dad.
The couple only recently ended their one-year relationship after Mario allegedly cheated on her. Now she claims they are ready to get back together and become a family.
She revealed: "I phoned Mario when he was at the Italy team's training camp on the day before they played Germany.
"I told him, 'You remember our dream to become parents? Well, I am expecting a baby. Your baby.'
"He was silent at first, but then let himself go. He told me, 'You've given me the best news ever.'
"I know how much Mario loves me, and I love him. We are now rebuilding our relationship. He'll be a playful dad and a good, loving partner."
She said they are waiting to find out the sex of the baby - and that Mario hopes it will be a boy.
Raffaella added: "I know for sure that he or she will wear the surname Balotelli with pride."
