Would You Sleep On The Edge Of A Mountain? (PHOTO)

LOOK: Is This The World's Scariest Hotel?

Now we would describe this as "the world's scariest hotel" - but a) that makes it sound like a haunted, Dracula-style residence; and b) this isn't, in fact a hotel, but a 'revolutionary bivouc'.

Perched high up in the Alps on the approach to Mont Blanc, it's called 'The New Refuge Gervasutti', and it has, as you can see, quite the view:

Boasting a kitchen, a dining room and a living room, too, the 100 square foot shelter is 9,000ft above sea level, with the closest village being Courmayeur, in north-western Italy.

The climbing hostel was commissioned by the Italian Alpine Club and cost around £200,000 to build, but those looking to stay themselves will only need to cough up £23 a night, with 12 beds available. But then again, they will need to climb halfway up Europe's highest mountain to make use of it, so perhaps that's why it's so reasonable, eh?
