Emmanuel Frimpong, Arsenal Midfielder, Charged With Improper Conduct Over Twitter Comments

Frimpong Charged Over Twitter Comments

Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has been charged with improper conduct for comments he posted to a Tottenham Hotspur fan on Twitter.

The 20-year-old had been "reminded of his responsibilities" by the club after he called a Spurs fan a "scum Y**" on Twitter, but the Football Association have sought to punish him for his outburst.

The FA said: "The allegation is that Frimpong posted comments amounting to improper conduct and/or which brought the game into disrepute, which included a reference to ethnic origin, faith or race."

Frimpong has until 4pm on Friday to respond to the charge.

The Ghanian made his debut for Arsenal in August last year, but has only played 15 times for the club, getting sent off in his third game at home to Liverpool.

However Frimpong has already rapped for Lethal Bizzle and established his own clothing brand, despite achieving nothing as a footballer.

His charge comes as no surprise to his followers on the social network site. Frimpong's tweets are often laced with questionable content and he once had to apologise for posting a picture of a dead African in a pool of blood.
