Back To School Costs Hitting Parents Hard

One in three of us are worried about the cost of sending our children back to school when the new year starts in September.

A survey by Turn2us asked 3,000 mums how they were feeling about the new school year, and 33 per cent admitted they were worried about the cost.

And it seems school uniform buying is what we most worry about. One in eight of us feel guilty that our children aren't as well dressed for school as their peers and one in eight of us admitted their children had been bullied in the last 12 months because they didn't have the newest or best clothes and equipment for school.

But buying uniforms isn't the only cash-gobbling area of back to school season hitting us hard. One in seven of us haven't been able to send our children on school trips in the past because of the cost involved, and it seems it's likely to be a problem this academic year too.

If you're struggling with school costs, there are over 3,500 charitable funds that might be able to help you out. For more info, log-on to Turn2us.org.uk.
