Manchester United have completed the £3.9m signing of Dutch left-back Alexander Büttner from Vitesse Arnhem.
The 23-year-old, uncapped by Holland, has inked a five-year contract with the Red Devils.
Part of the Netherlands' preliminary squad for this summer's European Championship in Ukraine and Poland, Büttner made 119 appearances over the past four years in the Eredivisie and has described his move as "one of the best days of my life".
Büttner will provide cover for 31-year-old left-back Patrice Evra, whose form has dipped over the past two seasons and has lacked competition for his role in the starting XI.
Sir Alex Ferguson hailed Büttner as "one of the best young left backs in Europe" and is a player the club have "been watching for a while".
Büttner becomes United's fourth signing of the summer after Shinji Kagawa, Nick Powell and Robin van Persie, taking their transfer spending up to around £44.3m
