Cher Lloyd Feared For Her Safety At V Festival: 'I Was Very Upset'

'I Was Very Upset'

British pop star Cher Lloyd cut short her set at last month's V Festival when a bottle of urine was thrown at her because she feared for her safety.

The Want U Back hitmaker was performing at the event in Chelmsford, England when the glass landed on stage, prompting her to walk off mid-song.

Lloyd later returned to finish her performance, but left the stage again after prolonged heckling from the crowd.

The star has now opened up about her decision to abandon the show, admitting she feared for her safety, as well as that of her band members.

She tells Britain's The Sun, "I was halfway through my first song and saw a bottle come my way. I thought, 'This happens to the best of them' and tried to ignore it. Then I saw a glass bottle and I thought that I didn't want to get a gash on my head or for one of my band to get hurt. It wasn't worth it so I walked off.

"I was very upset but a year or two ago I would have thrown the bottles back. Now I know how to cope with things like that. It's going to take time over here to win people over."
