Liverpool's thrilling 5-3 win against Young Boys in their Europa League opener may have been goal-laden, but the quality of the strikes did not match that of the entertainment. And that was mainly thanks to the first of the evening, courtesy of the hapless Juhani Ojala.
Perhaps it was the Young Boys' defence's shock at a decent Stewart Downing cross (with his right foot) which lead to Liverpool taking the lead courtesy of an effort which deserves a place in the pantheon of comical own goals.
As exceptional as it was, it doesn't beat Chris Brass' slapstick strike at Darlington in 2006...
