Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe is to become a daddy - with his EX girlfriend, Anne-Marie Moore.
Anne-Marie, 31, who is due to give birth early next year according to the Mirror, enjoyed a brief romance with Jermain, 29, this year.
The pair initially dated for nine months, but Jermain was reportedly dumped by Anne-Marie when she realised he was not looking to settle down. They then started seeing each other again around four months ago, leading to Anne-Marie's pregnancy, but subsequently split again.
A source told the Mirror that Jermain 'plans to be fully involved in the child's life' and said that he had been 'going to the scans and will do everything he can to support the child financially and emotionally'.
Anne-Marie announced the news of her pregnancy on Facebook two weeks ago, posting a scan picture of her baby and captioning it with the words 'there is such a special sweetness in being able to participate in creation #Life'.
She then went on to reveal that the baby is a little boy and that he had 'Mummies lips and Daddies head!' (sic).
A friend of Anne-Marie's said the couple had endured a 'stormy relationship' but 'cared for each other deeply'.
"It ended when they each wanted different things," the mole said, adding that "They continued to see each other. Anne-Marie felt herself getting close to him again and wanted more so she started to play hard to get. He became more interested and pursued her. Then she fell pregnant."
"She is happy Jermain is standing by their baby and is doing right by his son."
Earlier this year Jermain was dumped by pop star Alexandra Burke for allegedly cheating on her.
He has declined to make any comment about his forthcoming arrival.
