Edgar Davids, the former Holland international, has joined the Football League's basement club Barnet as joint head coach and could also resume his playing career.
Barnet are languishing at the foot of League Two having not won a single game all season and have called on Davids to assist manager Mark Robson at Underhill.

The club said in a statement the Dutchman could make his debut in a fortnight for the Bees.
Former manager and now director of football at Barnet Paul Fairclough said: "The capture of Davids is a statement of intent by our club to improve results and lay further foundations for the future.
"Edgar is a world renowned footballer and will be a great example to all our young players."
Having emerged from Ajax's remarkable mid-90s academy stable, Davids played in the club's 1995 Champions League final win before he moved on to play for AC Milan, Juventus, Barcelona, Internazionale and Tottenham during a distinguished career.
The midfielder's most successful spell was at Juve, where he won three Scudetti but was also on the losing side in the 1998 Champions League final, just as he was with Ajax in 1996.
He played seven times for Crystal Palace in 2010 before he returned to Amsterdam to join Ajax's supervisory boards under Johan Cruyff.
However he was told by Cruyff "You are only on the supervisory board because you are black," in November last year. Cruyff clarified the quote was in reference to multicultural obligations at the club.
Davids represented his country at the Euro 96, Euro 2000 and Euro 2004 as well as the 1998 World Cup in France.
