Jamie Carragher Given Subtitles For US' Being: Liverpool Audience

Carra Can Talk On... But Only With Subtitles

Jamie Carragher's Scouse accent will be accompanied with subtitles for the final Being: Liverpool episode aired tonight on Channel Five.

Carragher's notoriously thick dialect has flummoxed American viewers of the Fox-produced series so much that they have now been aided by producers.

None of the club's foreign players who speak English, such as Lucas Leiva and Pepe Reina, have been complemented by subtitles however.

Wayne Rooney has joked he can't understand his fellow Scouser Carragher

Embarrassingly Channel Five will keep the subtitles for its UK audience.

"The subtitles will be left in because we broadcast the show in the same format as in the US," a Channel Five spokesman confirmed.

Carragher appears in tonight's episode telling his son, who plays for one of Liverpool's under-age teams, to "tuck your shirt in".
