A boy who took his pet OWL on an outing through a town centre was attacked by a gang armed with silly string.
The 11-year-old was carrying his owl in Morecambe, Lancashire, with a friend on Saturday when a gang of teenagers demanded he handed over the bird.
When he refused, the thugs sprayed the boy and his friend with silly string.
The boys ran away but the gang gave chase and punched one of the lads in the face, though he wasn't seriously hurt.
Fortunately, the owl wasn't stolen – or injured!
PC Ben Hanley of Lancashire Police said: "This is an unusual incident."
If you have any information about the attack, call Lancashire Police on 101 quoting crime reference BB1203964 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
