While we knew Zooey Deschanel was in a band, we have to confess that we had never actually heard the 'New Girl' sing.
That is until now, after the she was chosen to sing the US national anthem before a baseball game over the weekend.
And while she has long been compared to Katy Perry, when we saw this clip we had to do a double take.

Zooey looked every inch the all-American girl as she belted out 'The Star-Spangled Banner' to a crowd of thousands at Game three of the 2012 World Series between the Detroit Tigers and the San Francisco Giants.
The 'New Girl' even looked a tad emotional as she ended her rendition. Bless!
