Sharon Osbourne has appeared on US TV to talk about the reasons behind her decision to have a double mastectomy.
Speaking on her daytime chat show 'The Talk', Sharon revealed she found out she had the breast cancer gene after having a genome test, which identifies changes in chromosomes, genes or proteins, with her husband, Ozzy.
"I went in and I had my breast implants removed because of one of them had burst and all of it had gone into the wall of my stomach," she said.
"But before that I'd had a genome test with my husband, which is a very sophisticated test which costs a fortune but we had it done for free because they wanted to know why my husband had lived so long!
"It came back and he has nothing... the only thing they found out is he's allergic to coffee. I come back with a whole shopping list.
"One of the things, which I already suspected because it's been in my family, was that I had the breast cancer gene and of course, we know that I had the colon cancer gene, and they're very similar genes."

The 'America's Got Talent' judge said that despite not being diagnosed with breast cancer it was her own decision to have both of her breasts removed.
"So, when this happened to my breast, my doctor said 'why don't we just do it all at once, save ourselves any worry?' and I said 'we're gonna do it'.
"And it was a decision I made myself... I wasn't diagnosed with breast cancer but I had the gene and one of my breasts was in a really bad state because of the implant and that was it.
"But I didn't want to make a deal about it then because it's like, why worry people and make a fuss unnecessarily?
