Christopher Maloney has spoken of his 'difficult' time on this year's 'X Factor' but says he deserves to still be in the singing contest despite being unpopular with many viewers.
Christopher Maloney says he deserves his place on 'The X Factor'
In an interview on today's 'This Morning' the singing hopeful - who quit Twitter earlier this week after receiving death threats - said: "All the people that are supporting me are giving me support throughout and that's what's getting me through this competition.
"It's been a really difficult time, its been really difficult for me but the love and support that I'm getting from the public that are supporting me is unbelievable, I can't thank them enough."
He also said Ella Henderson's shock departure from the show last week was 'bittersweet' because even though he was sad to see her go he was happy he'd received more votes.
"I was very very shocked. It goes to show that people are not picking up the phone and stuff, but it was bittersweet - I was really really happy that I got through but I also felt for Ella as well," he said.
And when he was asked if he deserved to be on the show, he said: "I deserved to be here. You know, I'm probably one of the hardest [working] contestants that work up through- you know, every day, day in, day out.
"I'm working so hard just to make myself better. And because I was a the wild card, the public voted me in so I'm not doing it just for myself, I'm doing it for the public that voted me in."
