Tottenham Hotspur Interested In Lewis Holtby (TRANSFER TALK)

Who's Interested In Lewis Holtby?

Lewis Holtby was pretty good on Fifa 10 and three years later Tottenham Hotspur could be about to belatedly act on the gaming impulse* to bring him to the Premier League.

Holtby revealed last week he would be leaving Schalke 04 at the end of the season and the Metro today claim Spurs have reached a pre-contract agreement with the 22-year-old.

Holtby has previously expressed a desire to play in the Premier League

With an English father and a German mother, Holtby was eligible to play for England before he played for Germany. He did however confess he sang the words to the English national anthem when he lined up for Die Mannschaft in a youth game once.

Helpfully for André Villas-Boas, his English is also impeccable. An early 20-something free transfer from the Bundesliga capped by Germany sounds auspicious. And a decent replacement for Gareth Bale, too.

En España, AS say Real Madrid could cut their losses of striker Gonzalo Higuaín, who is interesting Chelsea.

The asking price is £24m, which doesn't make much sense when Demba Ba is bound for the Bridge and Falcao is likely to join him in the summer. And then there is Forlorn Fernando Torres...

Three years ago Wesley Sneijder was enjoying the season of his life, but after his proposed move to Manchester United failed to materialise in 2011 nobody seems too keen on him anymore. Including his club.

Yours for around £200k a week

Tuttosport report he did not train with Internazionale as his relationship with the club worsens over his wages. The 28-year-old Dutchman has been told he will not play for the Nerazurri again unless he accepts a reduction of his current £200,000 a week salary.

Wigan's Ali Al-Habsi has had a wretched season in goal and the Mail claim the Latics are close to completing the loan signing of Atletico Madrid stopper Joel, 22.

Yesterday the Latics signed Ángelo Henríquez on loan from Manchester United with Roger Espinoza’s arrival also imminent.

One-time hot property Graham Dorrans has been told he can look for a new club by West Brom. The Independent say he will be allowed to leave this transfer window.

And look out Spurs fans: Jermaine Jenas is heading back to the Lane after making one start in three months during a loan stint at Nottingham Forest. The Mirror bring the bad news.
