A lime green Ford Capri which appeared in an episode of Only Fools And Horses is expected to sell for £30,000, after a fan picked it up for just £400.

Essex chauffer Ian Nixon will auction the motor in Birmingham on Saturday, via Coys, The Sun exclusively revealed.

The car appeared in an episode where Boycie spots an opportunity to avoid sending the vehicle to the scrap yard and flogs it to Del Boy (David Jason).

Blot on the landscape: The 'pratmobile' is expected to fetch up to £30,000

The clapped out vehicle comes to be dubbed 'the pratmobile' by Del's brother Rodney (Nicholas Lyndhurst) in the fifth episode of the seventh series.

Nixon told the East Anglian Daily Times: "The car was at Elstree studios. MGM Cars supply vehicles for TV and film and they finished filming with it and it was for sale.

The motor comes complete with garish tiger 'fur' interior and an MOT

"My dad was at the studios looking for props to rent when he saw it and negotiated a deal and bought it for me.

"I'm sad to see it go but I could do with the money!"

On set: David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst with the ill-fated vehicle and Del Boy's three-wheeler
