Is this the start of London's great gin revival? Last Christmas saw the opening of the City of London's first gin distillery for 200 years and now Beefeater Gin is set to open its first gin distillery visitor centre.
The Beefeater gin distillery experience in Kennington will open later in 2013 and will offer visitors to the capital a chance to see the world famous gin brand being made, as well as learning about the esteemed history of London gin.
Beefeater is currently the most awarded gin brand in the world. The manufacturer hopes its gin fans from more than 100 countries where the gin's sold will bring a much-needed tourist boom to the capital in 2013.
Work will be completed later this year to create "Beefeater London – The Home of Gin", which also marks a significant milestone in the career of Desmond Payne, 45 years as the master distiller for Beefeater Gin.
