BRIT AWARDS 2013: Ed Sheeran Loses Phone Containing His New Album

BRITS 2013: Sheeran Loses His New Album

Ed Sheeran's appearance at the Brits nearly cost him much more than a night in his busy schedule.

The 'A Team' singer, who showed up at the Awards at London's 02 Arena to present the Best Male prize to Ben Howard, had a lucky escape after losing the phone that contained his unreleased new album.

Sheeran admitted he was "freaking out a little bit" after misplacing his mobile, BBC Newsbeat reports.

The missing phone was eventually found in the car that dropped Sheeran off at the Brits and handed in by the driver.

Last month, Sheeran ruled out releasing his new music until 2014 so, if that mobile was permanently misplaced he may have had to come up with a whole new plan.

The follow-up to his 2011 debut '+', for which Sheeran has written 26 new songs, won't be available until 2014 at the earliest.

Sheeran kicked off his tour, which includes a stint supporting Taylor Swift, in the US last month.
