Grid-Block On The Highway: Lego Spill Shuts Down Lane (PICTURE)

A Lego spillage caused the closure of a lane as clean up crews scrambled to sweep up the plastic bricks.

The incident occurred in Harrison County, Virginia on Sunday afternoon.

But this was not the result of a jack-knifed lorry or overturned truck shedding its load.

Bricking it: The lane was closed after the Lego spillage on Sunday afternoon

Rather, it was the prized collection of one devastated 11-year-old boy, who lost his bricks after the bag they were in came loose from the roof of the family car.

WDTV News reported: “There was a roadway obstruction of Lego blocks on 1-79 around mile marker 117 in Harrison County.

“Traffic was down to one lane until crews could clean up the mess.”

She wrote: “Those Legos belonged to my 11-year-old son. They were in totes strapped to the top of the Durango, they fell off when the strap came loose. He cried, it seemed like forever."
