The Shetland Isles in Scotland has made it into the Lonely Planet's list of places with the world's best sunrises.
The travel guide has come up with seven spots that are especially dazzling at dawn. Among them the northerly isles of the UK are named as affording "some of Europe’s best sunrise views."
Sun-worshippers are also urged to visit Mount Fuji where travellers can pay homage to Amaterasu, the mythical Japanese goddess of the heavens.
The official climbing season runs from July to August
Another Asian nation that makes it onto the list include Myanmar or Burma, where wandering souls are urged to catch the sunrise from a stilt house on the Inle lake.
