Coronation Street star Chris Fountain think's Tina McIntyre's premature birth could push her and Tommy Duckworth together at last.
The pair have been friends for years and clearly have feelings for one another and both Chris and co-star Michelle Keegan have said they'd love to see them get together. Tina has just given birth to the surrogate baby she was carrying for their friends Gary Windass and Izzy Armstrong two months early, and Chris thinks it could be the catalyst for the pair to finally admit their feelings to each other.
Chris revealed: "Potentially... Because the baby's so ill we've been filming in the hospital for the last three months so they're always together. He's really proud of Tina and wishes he's realised sooner what a good thing it is she's done."
And if she does decide to keep the baby? "I think he would stay with her due to the fact she's the love of his life. He'll always be there, no matter what."
Meanwhile, Michelle confessed pretending to give birth on screen had not been easy, especially as she hadn't been able to rehearse properly.
She explained: "I think there's so much energy involved [in the actual take] you don't want to poop yourself out in rehearsals and then be zonked out for the real thing.
Michelle added: "Well it is an odd thing to do - to go to work and pretend to give birth.
"You're sat there with legs akimbo and at first you're really aware of people being in the room, but Georgia [May Foote, who plays Katy Armstrong and gave birth on screen two years ago] said you've got to just go for it."
