Transfer Talk: Real Madrid To Offer Cristiano Ronaldo £300k A Week

Who's About To Be Offered £300k A Week?

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez will jet out to the United States with the aim of thrashing out a new contract for Cristiano Ronaldo, say the Telegraph.

Ronaldo has two years left on his deal and has barely shown a shred of enthusiasm about committing to Real, but Madrid are willing to offer him more than the £300,000 Samuel Eto'o earns per week at Anzhi Makhachkala.

Manchester United remain keen to bring Ronaldo "home", as they jet out to Asia for the start of their pre-season tour today.

Ronaldo is told how much Madrid are prepared to offer him

Across the city, Manuel Pellegrini has told Joleon Lescott he will reject any offers for the defender, who he wants to keep at City, according to the Telegraph again.

Lescott has one year remaining on his contract, so should someone stump up a pretty good fee the centre-back could suddenly become sellable.

Christian Benteke, predictably, crops up in a few tabs this morning, and it's bad news for Liverpool.

The Belgian has rejected their approach and instead wants to join Tottenham Hotspur, but Villa, understandably, would rather he went to Chelsea, because they are likely to offer more money.

Tom Ince is still mulling over a move to Cardiff City, who have had an £8 million bid accepted by Blackpool, write the Mail.

This doesn't bode well for Hull City. The Star claim after a move for Charlie Austin broke down, the Tigers want to sign free agent Carlton Cole and Derby striker Connor Sammon, essentially two Premier League cast-offs.
