Duchess Kate Is Suitably Sombre For Remembrance Sunday

Who: Duchess Kate, aka Kate Middleton, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

What: Crowned the Hat Person of The Year 2011, Kate lived up to the accolade today paying her respects at Remembrance Sunday.

The Queen was the first to lay a wreath at the Cenotaph memorial in London, where royals and thousands of members of the public gathered to remember those Armed Forces who died fighting in all conflicts since the First World War.

At the first stroke of 11 sounded by Big Ben, Whitehall observed a two-minute silence.

Kate watched her husband Prince William lay a wreath from a balcony of the Foreign Office, along with Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, who was also formal in black attire.

Where: Remembrance Sunday, Cenotaph, London, 11 November.
