We're sure it wasn't Helena Bonham Carter's intention to scare everybody witless at the launch dinner for the new Hollywood Costume exhibition at the V&A Museum in London.

But, nevertheless, we think that might have been the case.

The actress turned up looking mildly terrifying with pale lined lips and everywhere-hair, that left her looking like the lead character from hubby Tim Burton's film, Corpse Bride.

But Helena wouldn't be Helena without her quirky looks, so perhaps we should just embrace it...
