Reese Witherspoon certainly pulled out all the sartorial stops for one of the most important TV appearances of her career.
Given the events of the past few weeks, the interview was a chance for the 37-year-old actress to prove that she is indeed the prim and proper good girl that we all know and love.
Dressed in a chic purple dress and heels, the Oscar-winning actress looked glossy and glamorous, as well as humble and obviously embarrassed about her recent arrest for disorderly conduct.
Speaking about that night, Reese explained: "We went out to a restaurant in Atlanta, and we had one too many glasses of wine," referring to herself and her husband Jim Toth. After their car was stopped, Jim was charged with DUI (driving under the influence), and Reese was charged with disorderly conduct.
"We thought we were fine to drive and we were absolutely not, and we are so sorry and just so embarrassed. We know better and we shouldn't have done that.
"I have no idea what I was saying. That night I saw him arresting my husband, and I panicked. I said all kinds of crazy things. I said I was pregnant. I'm not pregnant. I said crazy things. I had no idea what I was talking about."
