WHO: Isabel Marant
IN A NUTSHELL: When a remix of Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire kicked things off in the convent, it was a sure sign that next season, the Isabel Marant girl is going country. The staple casual pieces were still there - coloured jeans and slouchy shirts, but with a cowgirl twist.
BEG, BORROW OR STEAL: Cowboy shirts in blush pink and burgundy were worn with cropped skinny pants in studded denim or suede, but we loved the super cute dress versions of the prairie-girl staple, which were worn with low slung belts and patterned stilettos. Sheepskin and leopard print made an appearance but we the satin, varsity jacket and studded cropped styles were more in keeping with the country theme when it came to outerwear. Oh, and we can't forget to mention the laser-cut leather LBD - we'd quite like on of those too, please.
VERDICT: Head-to-toe suede, studs and tassels might not be everyone's cup of tea on paper, but Marant used her magic touch to give her cowgirls a chic, effortlessly cool edge, as she does with every collection. The fashion pack in cowboy shirts? We'll be on the look out this Autumn/Winter.
