According to friends he was in a good mood and had sent a text to his girlfriend later that evening.

Officers in Sussex found the body of a man matching Bhattacharjee's description near cliffs at Splash Point in Seaford, East Sussex.

The body has since been formally identified and his next of kin informed. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

As well as his role in 'EastEnders', Bhattacharjee also appeared in 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel', 'Casino Royale', 'Spooks' and 'New Tricks.
