A mum in America was given a free pizza from a waitress who wanted to say 'well done and thank you' for breastfeeding!
Mum Jackie Johnson-Smith fed her new baby at Fongs restaurant in Iowa where she was dining with her family. Her baby wasn't happy, so after a while she left the table to try and get him settled.
When Jackie's husband went to pay the family's bill, he was told his wife's pizza had been paid for. A waitress had also left a note on his receipt which said: "I bought one of your pizzas, please thank your wife for breastfeeding!"
Jackie uploaded the receipt to Facebook, where it has been shared over 2,000 times. She posted the following message:
"I have breastfed three children... I have breastfed them in countless of places both pleasant and unpleasant, discreetly and out in the open. I have gotten many looks and stares, but tonight erases any negativity I have ever received.
"I ate at Fongs for the first time tonight. Having a fussy baby I nursed him for a while in the booth and eventually left the table early as to not disrupt the restaurant. The waitress gave this receipt to my husband.
"I was speechless and emotional. Although I don't need a pat on the back for feeding my child, it sure felt amazing. It is amazing how we women can make each other feel when we empower each other."
The waitress behind the kind gesture, Bodi Kinney, told KCCI 8 News: "We need to come together and support each other when it comes to nursing our children."
Fabulous!
