A woman has survived after she was struck by lightning in front of her husband and children on the coast of Florida, USA.
Nicole Scarborough and her family decided to stay on the beach as storm clouds rolled in.
"I think how foolish to sit out in the rain, everyone knows better," she said.
As the walked off the beach back to the resort, Mrs Scarborough was hit.
"There was a huge explosion, flash of light, I just saw it kind of blow her off her feet, face first, onto the path," her husband said of the incident.
With just six stitches and a black eye Mrs Scarborough and her family have been able to resume their holiday but said they have a new appreciation for life.
