Katie Price Gives Birth To Son Jett Riviera Eight Weeks Early After Emergency Caesarean In Foreign Hospital

Katie Price Has Baby Son Eight Weeks Early After 'Nightmare Birth'

Katie Price has given birth to a baby son eight weeks early, after an emergency Caesarean operation, in a hospital experience she has described as "a nightmare".

The model and businesswoman revealed to the Sun newspaper that Jett Riviera was born earlier this week, after doctors in a foreign hospital discovered that her unborn child's heartbeat was dangerously low.

Katie told the Sun, "The next thing I know, a nurse is in my room saying: 'Get ready now. You have five minutes to shower. You are having C-section soon.'

"I started panicking. I have a terrible fear of needles and I was dreading the epidural. I got in the shower in shock. I kept thinking 'This will be my last shower before I have my fourth child.'"

Katie had been on holiday with her family, including new husband Kieran Hayler, when she started feeling unwell a week ago and attended hospital.

The location of the holiday, somewhere in Europe, has not yet been disclosed, but Katie has hinted that the name 'Riviera' is a nod to the exotic location - meaning either South of France, or Italy (probably not Torquay).

Plans had provisionally been made for her to give birth on Wednesday, but this date had to be brought forward as doctors continued to monitor the unborn baby's vital signs.

Although Katie has now been discharged from hospital, baby Jett - born at 32 weeks - is still there, where his parents have been able to visit him.

Jett is Katie Price's fourth child. She has two children, Junior and Princess, from her marriage to Peter Andre, and a son Harvey from a previous relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke.
