Jodie Marsh On Cheryl Cole's Bum Tattoo: 'It's A Step Too Far'

'It's A Step Too Far'

We thought tattoo obsessive Jodie Marsh would have loved Cheryl Cole's huge new bum-inking, but apparently not, after the glamour model has claimed the former 'X Factor' judge has gone 'a step too far' with her latest tat.

Cheryl split opinion at the weekend when her tattoo artist revealed the rose design on her back extended down to cover both bum cheeks.

Speaking on 'Lorraine', Jodie aired her views on the controversial inking.

“Cheryl’s tattoo? I’m the biggest tattoo fan in the world but even I’m not sure about it," she said.

"I think it’s a brilliantly done tattoo and I think it’s gorgeous, the only thing I don’t like about it is that it hides her beautiful bottom. Why would you want to cover up that lovely bum?”

Cheryl's tattoo has divided fans and critics

She added: "I think the issue is that she’s covered up her bum, for me and for a lot of people, I think because it almost is a step too far. It’s so huge her tattoo and it’s so much coverage, there’s no gaps or anything. You can’t see any skin at all.”

Cheryl has already defended the giant design, after both her and her bum trended on Twitter heavily over the weekend.

"People are entitled to their own opinion. Personally I've never really concerned myself with other people's body parts!" she said.

"I've had it for seven-eight months but only just had it detailed. I can pretty much safely say I'm now done!"

Cheryl has around 20 tattoos in total, and this design of English roses - Cheryl's favourite flower - covers previous tattoos on the singer's body, of a reptile and barbed wire.

The roses, believed to have cost around £4,000, were completed by renowned tattoo artist Nikko Hurtado in Los Angeles, who described the 30-year-old singer as "tough as nails'".
