A snappy new character has arrived at an aquarium in Australia.

Meet Pinjarra, a 750-kilogram, 50-year-old, mammoth croc believed to be one of the largest in captivity in the country, according to local media.

Having outgrown his old home, Pinjarra has been relocated to Melbourne Aquarium.

Exhibit manager, Alison Edmunds revealed the poor croc has been left lovelorn due to his size.

"Well he's got his favourite girls and he's a very big animal and unfortunately as his size is getting bigger, he's really outgrowing his ladies," she said.

"He's retired now and living here happily."
