‘Glee’ star Cory Monteith’s tragic death left fans and cast members devastated but as the special tribute episode prepares to air they will no doubt be shocked once again by new revelations.
Reports have emerged that Dianna Agron, who played the late star’s on-screen girlfriend, Quinn, was deliberately excluded from the script.
Dianna Agron
According to RadarOnline, Dianna was banned from appearing in the emotional episodem, apparently at the request of Cory’s girlfriend, Lea Michele and the show’s creator Ryan Murphy. It is also thought that there was widespread dislike of Dianna and her behaviour during the four series she starred in.
An insider at Fox, who produce the hit show, revealed to the website: “They [Ryan and Lea] never saw her [Dianna] as a team player. They simply did not want her sharing the glory for this very special episode.”
The absence of Quinn Fabray in the tribute episode titled ‘The Quaterback’ has already raised eyebrows especially after characters who were not integral to any of Cory’s storylines were written back in for the special show while Dianna was left out.
Cory Monteith and Lea Michele
While the actress won’t feature in the show, unsurprisingly a collection of emotive songs WILL take a starring role.
Lea will sing, ‘Make You Feel My Love’, Santana will belt out, ‘If I Die Young' by The Band Perry and Mercedes will take on ‘I’ll Stand By You’ - a track Cory’s character, Finn performed in series one. Other tracks include ‘Seasons of Love’ from the musical Rent and ‘Fire And Rain.'
Best get the tissues ready!
The Glee tribute episode will air in the UK on 18 October.
