Watching Channel 4's terrorist drama, 'Homeland', can be a pretty tense experience at the best of times.
So spare a thought for poor old Dick Cheney.
Not only did he have to deal with plot twists, cliffhanger endings and Carrie's psychosis but he also had to confront the very real possibility he could end up murdered like one of the show's villains.
In an interview with CBS's '60 Minutes, the former vice president, 71, reveals he had heart defibrillator implant in his chest in altered in 2007 to prevent it being hacked by nefarious evil-doers.
Exactly like a scene from 'Homeland' five years later.
Cheney is asked about the episode during the interview.
He said: "I was aware of the danger that existed, but I found it credible because I knew from the experience that we’d had the necessity for adjusting my own device … It was an accurate portrayal of what was possible."
So, will any more scenes from the show echo Cheney's life?
