A 10-year-old girl's adorable letter to her mother's fiancé has swept the internet after she thanked him having more 'faith' in her than her real dad.

The girl wrote the message after the pair went running together, saying 'it made her night'.

"Thank you for taking me to the park to run," the letter begins.

"Most of all thank you for having faith in me. I'm really looking forward to calling you dad when you and mommy get married."

She adds: "Well my hand hurts now, so bye."

The letter has been viewed thousands of times in less than 24 hours online.

The Reddit user who posted it explained: "My fiancee has two girls, one 10, one 3. Her ex was abusive and they broke up almost two years ago.

"Turned out her dad pretty much stopped acknowledging that they exist and I tried my best to pick up the slack, she told me that she watched her dad hit her mom, etc."

The 22-year-old took the girl running after watching her play football, saying he could 'barely keep up'.

He added: "My step-dad always tried to be the best he could and now I really notice how much it took. I have to call him tomorrow."
