Asking Sally Lindsay, Loose Women regular and former Coronation Street actress, for her favourite book when she was a child may have been a mistake - given we're having a very brief chat.
"I had millions!" she says excitedly. "A Christmas Carol is my favourite book ever. I just loved the story, the characters and the illustrations. My granddad had an amazing copy with fabulous drawings which I would read endlessly.
"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was another great one, ditto with The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. The Faraway Tree was a classic – all the Enid Blyton stories. I know they might not be PC anymore, but I think someone should re-write them all and get them back out there."
Phew!
A passionate advocate of reading with children, mum of two Sally is this year's ambassador for Booktime (part of Booktrust)- a charity which aims to inspire a lifelong love of reading, starting with young children. The charity has just given away its 10th million book (try saying that one after a glass of fizz) - as research finds just 1323FFEB00&videoControlDisplayColor=Slideshow-84940%
