Good news for Absolutely Fabulous fans because the movie is actually happening! We'd heard rumours of it before but now Jennifer Saunders herself has pretty much confirmed it... And it's all down to a bet with Dawn French.
Jennifer - who starred in the hit TV show as cray-cray PR Edina Monsoon alongside Joanna Lumley who played her boozed up, chain-smoking BFF - confirmed the news on The Jonathan Ross Show. Jennifer explained that she'll owe comedy pal Dawn a whopping £100,000 if she doesn't follow through with the flick.
"Well I have to do it now because I've threatened to a lot. And then she [Joanna Lumley] kept announcing it and saying, 'Yes, she's going to do it,' and then Dawn French on our radio show at Christmas said, 'I bet £100,000 that you don't write it,'
"So now I have to write it, otherwise I have to pay her £100,000."
