Patricia Cudd has stage 4 breast cancer and only has a few months to live.
But before she passes away, the 62-year-old from Florida has but one dying wish - to find a home for her beloved dog, Sherlock.
Speaking to 9news, Patricia revealed that Sherlock is her closest companion.
"He's my best friend," she says while chocking back tears in one video. "He's such a great animal! Just magnificent."
Patricia rescued Sherlock from an animal shelter a few years ago. Since then, she says that Sherlock has helped to rescue her, by keeping her spirits up during this difficult time.
"He's taught me to have fun! To just plain have fun. To go outside, look at the sun and enjoy life," she says.
For the last few years Patricia has been living in a cramped motel room with Sherlock. Although she doesn't want to leave him, she knows their days together are numbered.
"I am passing away. I don't know when exactly. Of course, everyone is passing away. But the cancer, you know — stage 4 is the ultimate stage — and he needs a home," she says.
The good news is that over 500 people have offered to provide Sherlock with a new home since Patricia made the video.
Patricia is sifting through every call and email to find the perfect home for this very special pup.
