Met Gala 2014: Kim Kardashian, Rita Ora And Emma Stone Recreate Angelina Jolie's Leg Bomb (PICS)

As stars including Kim Kardashian and Rita Ora arrived at Monday night’s Met Ball in New York, we couldn’t help but notice the return of a trend that should have vanished long ago - the Leg Bomb.

Before selfies and photo-bombing became de rigueur at red carpet events, Angelina Jolie introduced the world to what became known as the 'leg bomb' at the Oscars in 2012.

The 'leg bomb' that started it all...

And now it seems leg bombing is once again back in fashion, as at this year’s Met Ball we saw a whole host of stars drawing attention to their pins in dresses in with daringly high slits, kicking off - quite literally - with singer Rita Ora.

Rita even went as far as wrapping her errant leg up in ribbons in order to draw our gaze towards it.

Meanwhile, another star who was showing a whole lot of leg was ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ actress Emma Stone, who took some time out from her usual Monday night routine of Spice Girls sing-a-longs and ‘Made In Chelsea’ marathons to attend the swish gala.

Emma’s hot pink dress allowed her to leg bomb like a pro, while Kim Kardashian also gave it a go.

Unfortunately for Kim, who - let’s face it - is no stranger to flashing the flesh, she may have leg bombed a bit too vigorously, as she ended up giving photographers an eyeful on her way to the event when she suffered a wardrobe malfunction and gave everyone a peek at her pants.

Could this mean we’re on the verge of a full-scale leg-bomb’ revival? Are awards ceremonies and A-list bashes about to become awash with wayward legs being stuck out this way and that?

Watch this space.
