Franck Ribéry appears to have lost his race to be fit to remain in France's World Cup squad.
According to reports, Bayern Munich winger Ribéry and Clement Grenier have withdrawn from the 23-man party and will be replaced by Montpellier winger Remy Cabella and Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.
Ribéry, a player with 80 caps to his name, has struggled with a back problem for several weeks and followed an individual training programme in an attempt to regain fitness.

He was due to rejoin the full squad on Friday, however newspaper L'Équipe reported from the national team's camp at the Clairefontaine national academy coach Didier Deschamps had called up two men from the reserve list.
That prompted speculation Ribery and Lyon midfielder Grenier would both miss out on the trip to Brazil - the latter having sat out Friday's session while undergoing scans on a thigh problem.
Deschamps had already been forced into one change to his original squad, with injured Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda replaced by St Etienne's Stephane Ruffier.
